I am a sucker for spending money willy nilly. I don't mean to and it's often blamed on the well hidden woman in me. I impulse buy, I always have but can manage money well enough to pay the bills on time with a little left over. It's this little leftover that I have trouble controlling.
I was reading online about spending bans and thought I would share this tip as it has helped me a lot. It is not a new idea, it's been around for a long time and great for budgetting. The idea is simple. Give yourself a 30 day spending ban. Every non essential you wish to buy, write it on a list and leave for 30 days. If at the end of the 30 days you still want to buy the item and money allows, then purchuse it.
9 times out of 10 the item would have been an impulse buy and you will think ten times over about whether you really need the item or not.
